Hechi promotes green development in transportation industry

In recent years, Hechi has been promoting green and low-carbon development in its transportation industry.

From January to June this year, the city introduced 105 new energy taxis, with a cumulative total of 166, accounting for 14.82 percent of the total number of taxis in Hechi. Moreover, 67 new energy vehicles were added for online car-hailing purposes, bringing that total to 371, and accounting for 75.87 percent of the total number.

Another 24 new energy buses were added to the city's roster, bringing the total number of new energy buses in the city to 526. This accounts for 84.7 percent of the city's total number of buses. An additional eight new energy long-distance buses were added to the city's passenger bus fleet, pushing up that total to 34.

Green buses has been introduced not only into Hechi's urban areas, but into its rural areas as well. On June 2, an opening ceremony was held to commemorate the Donglan-Bama-Fengshan tourism bus line, which stretches from Donglan to Pohao. The line utilizes 24 new energy buses in total.

Of note, 44 new charging stations were installed throughout Hechi, bringing the number of such stations here to 370.

Meanwhile, in the field of water transportation, the city is promoting the construction of ports and dockside facilities. It also plans to utilize more new energy vessels, which will effectively reduce the carbon emissions produced in this sector.
