Representatives of 27 Guangxi"s international friendly cities - from the countries of Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Maldives, Spain and South Africa - are going to be making their way soon to Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
The cities have confirmed their participation in the special exhibition area for Guangxi's friendly cities at the 20th China-ASEAN Expo in September.
Preparations for the exhibition are now progressing smoothly, officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region announced on Aug 17.
Guangxi's friendly cities will showcase their products and urban images of themselves while plugging their special products and industries and promoting commerce and trade and exchanges with Guangxi.
The exhibition area will cover a total area of 396 square meters and will display a selection of food, consumer goods and service products with the local characteristics of international friendly cities that have great market potential.
The inaugural event held in 2022 achieved positive results in promoting commerce and trade and investment between the friendly cities.
To date, Guangxi has paired with 128 international friendly cities in 39 countries, ranking fourth in China in terms of the total number, including 59 pairings with ASEAN countries, ranking it first in the country.
