The Ministry of Public Security (China), Royal Thai Police, the Myanmar Police Force and the Ministry of Public Security (Laos) collaborated in organizing the inaugural conference on specialized cooperation against regional gambling and associated crimes, including human trafficking, kidnapping and unlawful detainment. This significant event took place in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from August 15 to 16.
During the conference, the participating parties reached an agreement to establish a comprehensive coordination center for specialized operations in Chiang Mai, Thailand. They also decided to establish joint action points in areas where gambling activities are rampant, so as to combat telecommunications network fraud and online gambling crimes in the region through increased cooperation, proactive measures, and enhanced professionalism. The parties expressed their determination to effectively combat and reduce incidents of human trafficking, kidnapping, and detention. They emphasized the importance of issuing a strong warning to gambling and fraud criminal groups through practical actions, highlighting the unity and cooperative efforts among the police forces of the four countries.
