Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county, in Guangxi, recently welcomed a bountiful harvest of the selenium-rich rice at a demonstration base in Xianfeng village, Chuanshan town.

Xianfeng village's selenium-rich rice industry demonstration base combines its unique natural resources with guidance from the Guangxi Rice Research Institute to produce high-quality selenium-rich rice.

The project, with an investment of nearly 280,000 yuan ($38,369), covers an area of nearly 100 mu (6.7 hectares) and utilizes the "village + support unit + cooperative + company + research unit" model. This boosts rural vitalization and income growth throughout the local community.

Wei Junru, Party chief of Xianfeng village, said, "This year, the paddy fields in our village have yielded an abundant harvest. We have estimated a yield of 40,000 kilograms of dried grain, which is expected to generate a collective income of 80,000 yuan."
