On Oct 28, the National Student Sports Games' first mountain bike race kicked off at the Baping Wetland Forest Health Tourism Area in Nandan county, Hechi.
The race consisted of two categories: the women's category and the men's category, with 75 athletes participating. The women's category completed four laps, while the men's category completed five laps.
The race track was designed and constructed in accordance with the latest rules and regulations of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the Chinese Cycling Sports Association. The track, spanning a distance of 4.6 kilometers, features approximately 450 meters of paved roads and around 4,150 meters of off-road mountain terrain. The track includes several technical sections, such as sharp downhill turns, wooden bridges, jump ramps, undulating segments, and rocky terrain.
After intense competition, Wang Ting from Nanning crossed the finish line with a time of 00:59:34, securing first place in the women's category. Guizhou Athlete Wen Youfeng and Nanning Athlete Zhao Fengfeng claimed second and third places respectively, with times of 01:00:29 and 01:01:18.
In the men's category, Wang Sheng from Guiyang clinched first place with a time of 01:04:36. Zunyi Athlete Wen Linghao and Chengdu Athlete Xie Daochao secured second and third places respectively, with times of 01:04:38 and 01:05:12.
