The Philippines and Timor-Leste agreed on Friday to explore an air service agreement to allow direct flights between the two country's capitals and facilitate more student exchanges between the two Southeast Asian countries.
According to the Philippines' presidential communications office, the two sides signed 11 agreements on economic and technical cooperation, higher education cooperation, and military cooperation, among others.
Philippine President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos and Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta, in Manila for an official visit since Wednesday, discussed the issues during their bilateral meeting at the presidential palace.
Marcos vowed to assist Timor-Leste in the skills formation after deploying a team to help sharpen their skills in food processing.
Marcos also reiterated his country's support for Timor-Leste's membership application to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, the 10-member regional bloc.
