This year’s “king of wax gourds” with a weight of 44.1 kilograms defeated the previous champion and became the new champion.

It is understood that Guangxi’s wax gourds are not only popular in the local market, but also become the “guest of honor” in Chinese restaurants in Dubai and ASEAN countries after being exported. Among them, the overseas sales of “mini” wax gourds in summer have skyrocketed, and sales will continue to increase in the future. Pumpkins, wax gourds and chieh-qua are the dominant vegetable crops in Guangxi. By holding the competition of good breeds and products, Guangxi has further accelerated the cultivation of pumpkin, wax gourd and chieh-qua varieties, quality improvement, and brand building.
