On June 25, the Dongzhong (China) – Hoanh Mo (Vietnam) border gate pair, along with the Lihuo–Bac Phong Sinh passage, was officially opened to the public. This border gate pair will serve as a significant gateway for facilitating trade in chilled seafood as well as agricultural and sideline products between China and ASEAN countries. 

Dongzhong Border Gate, located in Dongzhong Town, Fangcheng District, Fangchenggang, Guangxi, faces Vietnam's Hoanh Mo Border Gate across the river, only 160 kilometers away from Vietnam's Port of Haiphong. Lihuo Passage, located in Lihuo Village, Naliang Town, Fangcheng District, faces Vietnam's Bac Phong Sinh Passage across the river. Since the start of the Comprehensive Service Area Project for the Dongzhong Border Gate (including Lihuo Passage), a total investment of RMB 1.614 billion has been made, covering a planned land area of 607.25 mu. This project aims to develop a comprehensive border gate integrating general trade, small-scale border trade, trade among border inhabitants, and passenger clearance functions. (Bo)
