The closure section of the Shangjin-Zuojiang double-line extra-large bridge, a vital project on the Chongzuo-Pingxiang section of the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway (referred to as the Chongzuo-Pingxiang section), recently achieved the concrete pouring of the box girder, signifying the seamless closure of the only low tower cable-stayed bridge along the entire route. This milestone marks the near-completion of key critical projects on the Chongzuo-Pingxiang section of the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway.

Construction workers are currently making significant progress on the project, and it is anticipated that the "four electricity" construction phases, i.e. power supply, telecommunication, signal and electricity, will commence in early July this year, followed by track laying in September. The entire line is projected to be finished and operational next year, thereby reducing the travel time between Nanning and Pingxiang to slightly over an hour. Spanning 81.52 kilometers, the Chongzuo-Pingxiang section of the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway is designed for speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour, with future provisions for extension into Vietnam. Once the Chongzuo to Pingxiang section is operational, it will establish a crucial international transport link from China to ASEAN by connecting Nanning to Pingxiang.
