Myanmar earned 175 million U.S. dollars from the export of 345,467 tons of rice and broken rice in the first three months of the 2024-25 fiscal year, according to the figures from the Myanmar Rice Federation on Tuesday.
The country earned 55 million dollars from exporting 111,862 tons of rice and broken rice in April, 36 million dollars from exporting 71,279 tons in May, and 84 million dollars from exporting 162,326 tons in June.
The Southeast Asian country exported rice and broken rice to more than 20 countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, China and Belgium, it said.
In the 2023-24 fiscal year, Myanmar exported over 1.6 million tons of rice and broken rice, earning over 845 million U.S. dollars, according to the federation.
