Recently, the first section of the water conveying gallery at the side pier of ship lock in the Qishi Hub on Pinglu Canal has been capped successfully, marking the first capping construction of dual water conveying gallery at the Qishi Hub, the completion of gallery construction for the ship lock, and the beginning of a new phase of lock wall construction.

It is reported that the gallery construction required precision control and flatness with complex structure of the gallery. Owing to the significant challenges in formwork support of valve chamber, it also required high techniques in temperature control to prevent cracking in the pier positions. The construction management team strictly controlled processes such as rebar binding and formwork support, meticulously overseeing technical details such as rebar cover spacing. They introduced a smart tape laying system to address challenges in large-volume concrete pouring, and implemented an intelligent system for concrete curing control, which adjusted spray frequency and duration based on environment temperature, enabling automated control of curing processes and ensuring comprehensive project quality.
