This year, Guangxi has been deeply engaged in urban renewal, building a distinctive system for the protection and inheritance of urban and rural historical culture. This ongoing effort to enhance urban quality has brought tangible happiness to its citizens.
It is reported that by June, Guangxi has announced 19 historical and cultural towns, 87 historical and cultural villages, and 792 traditional villages, along with 38 historical and cultural blocks. In addition, it has implemented urban renewal projects, aiming at improving the living environment. In the first half of this year, 67,000 old residential units have been renovated; the continued construction for 1,363 back lanes has been completed; and 156 elevators in existing residential buildings have been installed. The rate of centralized collection of urban domestic sewage reached 63.5%. Moreover, Guangxi has accelerated the construction of livable rural areas, continuously improving the living environment. In the first half of the year, 104 rural waste collection and disposal facility projects were initiated across Guangxi.
