Recently, at Sanmin Village, Lingma Town, Wuming District, Nanning, the nut trees were full of fruit, and the local people were busy picking and transporting, with happiness of harvest in sight.
It is reported that macadamia nuts, also known as Hawaii nuts, are awarded as the "queen of dried fruits" for their oily kernels, good taste and rich nutrition. After 7 years of planting, nut trees can enter the fertile period, with a yield period of more than 70 years and a profit of 8000 to 15000 yuan per mu. Meanwhile, the peel of nuts can also be used as organic fertilizer back to the field, and nuts trees are regarded as the "cash cow" with a big market potential and good economic benefits. With extensive management and its strong drought resistance ability, macadamia nuts are suitable for growing in all kinds of soils. By June this year, the planting area of macadamia nuts in Wuming District has reached more than 3.500 mu, and the field purchase price this year is 12 yuan/kg.
