The inaugural China-ASEAN Conference on Knowledge Service Innovation and International Exchange Development saw the launch of the China-ASEAN University Publishing Association, in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sept 26.
This nonprofit association, established by Guangxi Normal University Press and Zhejiang University Press with partners from Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, aims to strengthen cultural ties through publishing.
Its key functions include enhancing information exchange, promoting copyright trade, expanding marketing channels, building talent pools, and driving innovative integration. By fostering publishing cooperation and bidirectional cultural exchanges, the association seeks to boost mutual trust, understanding, and people-to-people connectivity between China and members of ASEAN.
In the future, the association plans to collaborate with universities, the media, and research institutions to achieve shared resources, mutual benefits, and sustainable growth. Their goal is to become a leading international publishing association, expanding influence and promoting unity through cultural exchange.
