Recently, the 5th International Conference on Deepening ASEAN Cooperation of Agricultural Science and Technology was held in Nanning. Academicians and experts from eight countries including China, Cambodia and Thailand, discussed various topics including the combination of digital technology and intelligent agriculture.

It is reported that in view of the current situation and shortcomings of agricultural digital transformation in China and some ASEAN countries, the participating experts suggested that we should jointly build relevant platforms including the China-ASEAN Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Alliance, the China (Guangxi)-ASEAN Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Center, relevant crop research and development centers and experimental demonstration bases, and continue to establish agricultural cooperation demonstration zones; experts also proposed to strengthen cooperation in key areas of common concern, such as food, fruit and germplasm resource innovation, and tap the cooperation potential of intelligent agriculture, digital agriculture and environmentally friendly agriculture; they put forward the establishment of a long-term and effective agricultural sci-tech and people-to-people exchange mechanism including the dispatch of agricultural experts.
