The 7th “Belt and Road·Colorful Yunnan” Rally concluded on Sunday with an off-road race in Mengla County, Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Yunnan Province.

This year’s rally started in Kunming City in China’s Yunnan, and passed through Huay Xai City in Laos, Chiang Mai and Chumphon in Thailand, and Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, before concluding in Xishuangbanna.

Over 19 days, the rally covered approximately 8,000 kilometers. Along the route, multiple economic, trade, and sports exchange events were held.

The deputy commander of this year’s rally, Shu Jiajun, said that the about 1-kilometer final track demanded a maximum time limit of 12 minutes. The course included challenging obstacles such as S-curves and consecutive humps.

After intense competition, Yunnan driver Hong Qianbo claimed victory with an impressive time of 2 minutes and 17 seconds.

At the closing ceremony, Xing Jin, deputy director of the Yunnan Province Sport Bureau, noted that over the course of the rally, participants completed five automotive sporting events and engaged in multiple activities, including the Kuala Lumpur business exchange, Chiang Mai - Yunnan outdoor sports promotion, and Vientiane trade fair.

Xing emphasized that Yunnan plans to continue hosting this international flagship sports event in the long term.
