A men’s friendly football match between China and Vietnam was held on Tuesday evening in Pingxiang City, south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

During 90 minutes of intense competition, the Huisen China-Vietnam (Pingxiang) team beat the Daxin football association team by 3-2.

The match was part of the 2024 Pingxiang cultural and tourism promotion week, which aims to promote China-Vietnam friendship and advance cooperation in trade, culture, sports, and tourism.

In addition to the football match, the 2024 Pingxiang cultural week also featured activities such as the inaugural China-ASEAN self-driving tour, ASEAN fruit consumption season and culinary competition, cultural performances, and folk activities.

Pingxiang, bordering Vietnam, is known as the “southern gateway of China.” It serves as the most convenient international land route connecting China to ASEAN countries.

In recent years, the city has hosted cultural and sports exchange events with Vietnam, including football matches, chess competitions, and cross-border cycling races. These activities have fostered deeper connections between the people of China and Vietnam.
