The first food festival celebrating the warmth of winter through local traditions, including folk music, regional opera, and delicious cuisine from Guangxi and Guizhou, opened in Lijiu Lijie Tusi Cultural Tourism Area in Nandan county on Dec 22 and will last until Jan 22, 2025.

The event began with a dance from Tongle Art Troupe, followed by folk songs and dances. Performers from Guizhou province showcased the most well-preserved original Buyei mountain song of Dushan county, receiving continuous applause.

"I have performed in Nandan county many times. Every time I come, I find that the urban and rural landscapes are really beautiful, and the quality of life is improving," said one of the singers.

The tourism area is a key stop on the event's trip across Guizhou province and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. Six thematic sections will be included, and it will cover over 2,000 mu (133 hectares), with an investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($205.53 million). This integration of culture, including Tusi culture, offers a unique sense of rural nostalgia and joy.
