The fifth episode of the new documentary series Marooned with Ed Stafford, shot in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, by Discovery Channel and Bilibili, has captivated audiences with over 100 million views as of Jan 5.

The Marooned with Ed Stafford, consisting of 12 episodes, was filmed in six locations. The fifth one in Guilin showcased how the adventurer Ed Stafford tackled survival in Guilin's wilderness.

Starting his journey on a bamboo raft through the Lijiang River, Stafford marvels at the stunning scenery, calling it one of the most spectacular moments in the series. Equipped with only a satellite phone, medical kit, and camera gear, he embarked on a 10-day survival quest, encountering diverse and challenging wildlife.

Unlike previous episodes where survival was harsh, Stafford enjoys loquats, wild strawberries, homemade river snail soup, and grilled crayfish. The show has entertained the audience and highlighted unique landscapes and rich ecological resources in Guilin.
