On January 5, the 2024 Ruili China and Muse Myanmar Cross-Border Marathon officially kicked off in Ruili City in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. A total of 9,029 runners from various countries and regions, including China, Myanmar, and the United Kingdom, participated in the race, marking an increase of 457 foreign entrants, compared with the previous session. To date, the event has been held nine times, participated by over 540,000 runners from 33 countries and regions. Transformed into an influential brand both internationally and regionally, the event—with its slogan "One Marathon, Two Countries"—has continually strengthened the ties between the people of China and Myanmar while fostering bilateral economic and cultural exchanges.
