On the 8th, Lyu Zhanjiang, Deputy Director of Guangxi Exit and Entry Border Inspection General Station, said that in 2024, Guangxi opened its ports to the outside world with “smooth movement of people and smooth flow of goods”. 14.312 million inbound and outbound personnel were inspected at ports throughout Guangxi, including 5.581 million Vietnamese nationals, accounting for approximately 39% of the total number of inbound and outbound personnel; 1.601 million vehicles have been inspected, including 1.248 million China-Vietnam cross-border trucks, accounting for approximately 78% of the total number of inbound and outbound vehicles. The above data reflects that cross-border travel between China and Vietnam has become more popular and trade cooperation has become more prosperous”, said Lyu at a press conference held on the same day.

The Guangxi Exit and Entry Border Inspection General Station efficiently ensured the acceleration of port clearance, implemented a series of convenient measures for customs clearance, actively promoted the construction of the China-Vietnam Intelligent Port project, built and applied a fast clearance system for entry and exit vehicles at key land ports and ancillary channels such as Friendship Pass and Shuikou Port, reducing clearance time by 75%. The number of inbound and outbound trucks at Friendship Pass Port exceeded 500000 in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 15.96%, reaching a historic high.
